Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a brick red wheel with five spokes and the hub bearing a disc composed of six horizontal wavy bars alternated gold and light blue all in front of five light blue fleurs-de-lis between the spokes radiating from the hub and extending over the rim of the wheel; and upon the rim the inscription "SERVICE WITH EXCELLENCE" in gold letters.

Symbolism
Brick red and gold (golden yellow) are used for the Transportation Corps. The Battalion's participation in five campaigns in the European Theater, World War II is commemorated by the five fleurs-de-lis. The light blue color and the wheel refer to the organization's historic descent from a Quartermaster Truck Regiment. The wheel also signifies the present transportation mission, and together with the hub bearing a disc composed of wavy bars depicts the Unit's special operations at established water terminals and inland terminal transfer points.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 26 March 1968.
